Bedsores also known as pressure ulcers can be uncomfortable for those with mobility issues that are often wheelchair bound or bedbound. These are a serious and common problem and There are over 200,000 new cases that occur each year in U.S hospitals alone. These are wounds that form due to the lack of blood supply towards the area and knowing bedsore prevention can ease the pain. They can be incredibly painful for the elderly clients, and can often lead to further health complications such as an infection, pain, and even death if not treated properly. Many times pressure ulcers go untreated because caregivers don't have the right information about how to prevent them from developing in the first place.
The Pressure Ulcers Prevention Course aims to provide the knowledge and procedures to help caregivers prevent bed sores their clients may acquire overtime, educate them about the signs and symptoms, as well as learning how to mediate this issue for a diverse group of clients in order to improve the well-being and daily experience of each individual clients.
